Sun Cradle

I love it when it's Christmastime
With the kittens three
And you were roasting something yummy
Reading to me
Tails of whimsy
Tom Bombadill maybe
and Goldberry too.

I built you a
Cradle for the Sun
To sway there cozily
All afternoon
To rock around the treeclock
Merrily and for-fun
Showing you
How Cinnamon sticks brew
In Golden Angel Stew
Your frothing bubble bath too
Or birch branches
Carved out and woven into
blanketed babe's holly-day basinette
The red & green amulet hung from her neck
And we heard three kittens starting to Purrr..

I wanted to wrap you in Home
Coo to you the Chestnut song
Of velveteen creameries and bergamot oil
Nutmeg and a chin that coils to the breast
When you rest so warmly this way

You took a deep drink from my humming bird hart
You needed that
To thaw the hypothermic parts
That swam the ocean Freeze
That deep-dove Mercury seas
Just to get here to me
To bring the Maluka and the Chai tea too
Oats for breakfast in the morning
and three bright kittens that smile with the Sun.. ~*~

"I love you." said we
And it melted us just enuff to live another nine lives
